Each year, the Jim Gibson Patron of the Year Award is given to individuals, groups or organizations demonstrating exceptional contributions to support the initiatives of the Professional Golfers’ Association of British Columbia (PGA of BC).

We are thrilled to announce that the ALS Society of BC’s Executive Director, Wendy Toyer, has been chosen as this year’s awardee.

ALS can hit anyone, at any time, regardless of age, gender or ethnic origin. The average life expectancy after diagnosis is two to five years. Support equipment costs an average of $150,000.00 per patient; nursing and/or home care costs are up to 10 times that amount.
