Make a Difference with Your Swing: Join the Annual PGA of BC Golfathon for ALS in June!

Every June, get ready for an unforgettable experience as PGA of BC golf courses and their passionate professionals unite for the annual PGA of BC Golfathon for ALS fundraisers, proudly presented by Pacific Blue Cross!

This annual event is a powerful testament to the unity and generosity of PGA of BC’s golfing community. Picture this: professionals from your course stepping up to play as many rounds as possible, from sunrise to sundown, in solidarity with ALS patients. It’s more than just a game; it’s a heartfelt tribute to those battling ALS, demonstrating our collective strength and compassion.

By participating in the Annual PGA of BC Golfathon for ALS, you’re showcasing your golfing prowess and making a real impact. Every swing and every donation received directly supports ALS research and provides support to ALS patients and their families. Over the past 18 years, the PGA of BC Golfathon for ALS has raised more than $2.5 million dollars!

By registering your facility for the annual event, you’re not just adding your name to the roster; you’re becoming part of a movement that embodies the spirit of giving back. Plus, it’s an excellent opportunity to show your community that the PGA of BC stands for more than golf – it stands for compassion and making a difference.

Participating is Both Simple and Rewarding:

Step 1: Choose any day in June, which marks “ALS Awareness Month,” or later, and the ALS Society of BC will take care of the rest! You’ll get a welcome package, a custom online donation webpage, event marketing materials, and even tax receipting for your donors. And that’s not all – the Golfathon for ALS will be highlighted in a multimedia campaign with GlobalTV, and pre/post media outreach will be conducted in your local community, showcasing your amazing efforts to raise awareness and support for ALS.

Step 2: Advertise the event marketing materials provided in the pro shop or clubhouse before the event.

Step 3: Encourage your acquaintances and the public to contribute to your PGA of BC Golfathon for the ALS fundraiser by making donations or pledges. They can donate online at your course’s fundraising webpage at www.golfathonforals.com. Online donations are easy to track, and ALS BC will handle tax receipts automatically. For cheque or cash donations, ensure the donor’s information is complete on the pledge form.

Step 4: On the designated PGA of BC Golfathon for ALS event date in June, golf professionals and course staff can play as many holes as they wish. ALS BC will follow up with you after the event for feedback. Share photos and stories to feature on the PGA of BC Golfathon for ALS website and social media channels. Tag us on Facebook @ALSBC, X (Twitter) @ALS_BC, and Instagram @als_bc, using hashtags #ALSBC #MovetoCureALS #PROJECTHOPE in your captions.
